Sonatrach : Manufacturing of Locally-Developed PLCs to Adjust Gas Injection

ALGIERS – The Central Research and Development Department and the National Well Services Company, subsidiaries of the group Sonatrach, signed Wednesday in Algiers, a contract for the manufacturing of PLCs to automatically adjust gas injection (flow rate) settings in hydrocarbon tanks, to maintain pressure and increase production from the wells.

The agreement was signed at the general management headquarters of Sonatrach, by the director of Research and Development, Mustapha Mohamed Benamara, and the CEO of the ENSP, Abdelkader Attab, in a ceremony chaired by the CEO of Sonatrach, Rachid Hachichi, in the presence of the group’s executives and the managers of its subsidiaries.

The contract allows the ENSP to manufacture PLCs to automatically adjust gas injection, conceived by the Sonatrach’s Central Research and Development Department and patented by the Algerian National Institute for Industrial Property.

The oil and gas group plans to instal this new technology at SONATRACH’s production sites.

A total of 500 producing wells in Hassi Messaoud and Hassi R’mel will be fitted with this technology, according to the details provided during the signing ceremony.
