Sonatrach: Advanced Negotiations on Seven Hydrocarbon Contracts with International Companies

ALGIERS- The chief executive officer (CEO) of Sonatrach, Rachid Hachichi, said that negotiations were at an advanced stage with international companies on seven hydrocarbon contracts to be signed soon.
At a news conference held on the sidelines of the signing ceremony for a hydrocarbon contract with the Chinese company SINOPEC, Hachichi said that “Sonatrach is currently in negotiation with international companies about seven contracts,” adding that “they will be signed successively over the coming period.”
The companies concerned, according to the CEO of Sonatrach, are Chinese SINOPEC, Italian ENI, French Total, the two US companies Chevron and
ExxonMobil, in addition to a Swedish company.
Hachichi called “difficult” the negotiations with the different companies over hydrocarbon contracts, announcing that no less than 140 negotiation meetings were held in this context.
