Somalia: Three Killed in Bomb Explosion in Mogadishu

A roadside bomb targeting military vehicles exploded in the Somali capital, Mogadishu, on Wednesday, resulting in the deaths of two security personnel and one civilian, according to a security source.

The incident occurred in the Daynile neighborhood, where Ali Ahmed, a security official in Mogadishu, confirmed the fatalities of the two security forces members and the civilian.

Additionally, three others were injured in the blast and have been taken to the hospital for treatment.

Ahmed also reported that police and representatives from other security agencies responded promptly to the scene and initiated an investigation into the attack.

The terrorist group “Shebab” has claimed responsibility for this assault, which is part of a broader pattern of attacks against the government and African Union peacekeeping forces since 2007.
