Six Dead at Resort Construction Site Fire in South Korea’s Busan

SEOUL, February 14, 2025 – A fire at the construction site of a hotel complex in Busan, South Korea, has claimed the lives of six individuals, with around 100 people evacuated, according to a report from the Yonhap news agency on Friday, citing firefighters.

The report also noted that seven others sustained injuries, raising concerns that more victims may still be trapped at the site.

A spokesperson for the Busan fire department was unavailable for immediate comment.

In response to the incident, Choi Sang-mok, the acting president of South Korea, has directed that all available resources be deployed to extinguish the blaze, as stated by his office.
