Russian Forces Target Ukrainian Gas Infrastructure

Russia’s Ministry of Defense reported that the Armed Forces carried out a coordinated strike using high-precision weapons and attack drones targeting critical gas-energy infrastructure supporting Ukraine’s military-industrial complex. The strike hit all intended targets, affecting military airfields, personnel concentrations, and enemy equipment across 137 areas.

Explosions were reported in multiple Ukrainian regions, including Khmelnytsky, Ivano-Frankovsk, Dnepropetrovsk, Kiev, Vinnitsa, Kharkov, and Cherkassy. Local authorities confirmed hits on critical infrastructure, while emergency power outages were announced by Ukraine’s Ministry of Energy. Ukrainian air defense systems intercepted 85 drones, French-made guided bombs, and HIMARS rocket system projectiles.

In retaliation for Ukrainian attacks on civilian infrastructure, Russian forces regularly target personnel, equipment, and military facilities. Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov emphasized that the Russian military does not target residential buildings or social institutions.
