Russia Says Budapest Summit Between Putin and Trump Remains Possible

A meeting between Russian President Vladimir Putin and U.S. President Donald Trump in Budapest remains feasible, Russian Presidential Aide Yury Ushakov said in a comment on the Telegram channel Yunashev Live.
“The Budapest summit is still possible; why not?” Ushakov stated, though he did not provide any specific dates for the meeting.
Trump had previously announced on October 16, following a phone call with Putin, that the two leaders had agreed to meet soon in the Hungarian capital. The summit was later postponed after both sides were unable to reconcile their positions sufficiently to make progress on resolving the conflict in Ukraine. Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov also said that while a Russia-U.S. summit in Budapest could be mutually beneficial, thorough preparatory work is essential before such a meeting can take place.
