
Russia has expressed concern over the security of key energy infrastructure, stating that it hopes Turkey has conveyed to Volodymyr Zelenskyy the inadmissibility of any attacks targeting gas pipelines. The remarks come amid heightened fears over the vulnerability of critical transit routes supplying energy to Europe.
Russian officials confirmed that measures are being taken to reinforce the security of major pipeline networks, including the TurkStream and Blue Stream routes, which are vital for gas deliveries across the region. The move reflects growing anxiety in Moscow over potential disruptions that could further strain already volatile global energy markets.
On the issue of the Iran conflict and its global implications, Russia noted that it has taken note of remarks made by Donald Trump regarding the Strait of Hormuz, but preferred not to comment further. At the same time, officials warned that the geography of the conflict involving Iran is expanding, while the level of tension across the Middle East continues to rise, with Moscow describing the situation as one where “virtually the entire region is on fire,” raising concerns over its impact on global stability and the world economy.
