Russia Offers Consultations with Poland After Drone Incident

The Russian Defense Ministry announced on Wednesday that it is prepared to hold consultations with its Polish counterparts regarding reports of drones crossing into Polish airspace. The ministry stressed that no Polish facilities were ever intended to be targeted during recent Russian operations in Ukraine.
According to the statement, Russian forces conducted strikes on Ukrainian military-industrial facilities in the regions of Ivano-Frankovsk, Khmelnitsky and Zhitomir, as well as in the cities of Vinnitsa and Lvov. The ministry underlined that the range of the unmanned aerial vehicles allegedly crossing into Poland does not exceed 700 kilometers, suggesting they could not have been aimed at Polish territory.
“However, we are ready to hold consultations with the Polish Defense Ministry on this matter,” the Russian Defense Ministry emphasized. The announcement comes amid heightened regional tensions, with Warsaw moving to seek NATO consultations under Article 4 following the incident.
