Rome Set to Host Next Round of Iran–US Indirect Nuclear Talks

Iran’s Deputy Foreign Minister for Legal and International Affairs, Kazem Gharibabadi, announced that the next round of indirect talks between Iran and the United States is expected to be held in Rome.
Speaking to the press, Gharibabadi said, “We should not focus on the venue and timing of the negotiations—they are not of fundamental importance.” He added that the location had already been changed two or three times and confirmed that Oman would continue to serve as a mediator.
Last Saturday, Muscat hosted the initial round of indirect negotiations, led by Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi and U.S. envoy Steve Whitkoff. The talks focused on Iran’s nuclear program and reducing tensions between the two countries.
