
ALGIERS, January 29, 2025 – Algerian Secretary of State for Energy, responsible for Renewable Energies, Noureddine Yassaâ, met with Katrine From Hoyer, the Ambassador of Denmark to Algeria, to discuss the current state of bilateral cooperation in the energy sector, particularly in renewable energies, and to explore opportunities for enhancement, as indicated in a statement from the ministry.
The meeting, held on Tuesday at the ministry’s headquarters and attended by various officials, centered on evaluating the existing partnership in the energy sector with an emphasis on renewable energies. Both parties considered strategies to strengthen these ties for mutual benefit, the ministry’s statement noted.
In this regard, the Danish Ambassador expressed strong interest from Danish energy companies in investing in renewable energy sectors, notably in wind energy and green hydrogen, thereby leveraging Danish expertise in these areas.
Yassaâ, in turn, highlighted that his sector is receptive to furthering bilateral cooperation between the two countries. He underscored the incentives and the legal and regulatory frameworks established by Algeria to encourage foreign investment and foster strategic partnerships.
At the meeting’s conclusion, both parties reaffirmed their commitment to enhancing cooperation aimed at promoting sustainable development and strengthening economic relations between their nations, the statement concluded.
