Real Madrid’s Bellingham Undergoes Shoulder Surgery, Out for Up to 12 Weeks

Real Madrid’s English midfielder Jude Bellingham is anticipated to be sidelined for up to twelve weeks following successful surgery on his left shoulder.

In an official announcement, Real Madrid stated, “Our player Jude Bellingham has undergone successful surgery for chronic dislocation of his left shoulder,” although the club did not provide a specific timeline for his recovery. However, various Spanish media outlets report that Bellingham will likely require around 12 weeks before he can return to the pitch, with a potential comeback in October.

At just 22 years old, the England international has faced ongoing challenges with his left shoulder since dislocating it during a La Liga match in November 2023. Since that incident, he has been playing with a brace to support the joint.

As a result of the surgery, Bellingham will miss the season opener and is expected to be unavailable for the La Liga clash against Atlético Madrid at the end of September, as well as the first two group stage matches of the UEFA Champions League.

Additionally, he will not participate in the upcoming World Cup qualifying matches against Andorra and Serbia on September 6 and 9, respectively.
