Real Madrid: Vinicius Suspended for Two Matches

Brazilian forward Vinicius Junior of Real Madrid has received a two-match suspension from the Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) following a red card issued during the team’s 2-1 victory over Valencia last Friday in La Liga.

According to the RFEF’s disciplinary committee, the sanction against the Brazilian international stems from “violent behavior outside the context of the game, with no opportunity to play the ball or during a stoppage in play.”

Consequently, the Real Madrid forward will be unavailable for the upcoming La Liga matches against Las Palmas and Real Valladolid.

The referee’s report indicated that Vinicius was sent off for intentionally “striking an opponent in the head when the ball was not in play, using considerable force.” The Brazilian winger, who had recently returned from a prior suspension due to accumulated yellow cards, deliberately struck goalkeeper Stole Dimitrievski after an altercation between the two players, resulting in his expulsion.
