Qatar Condemns Netanyahu’s Reckless Statements After Zionist Strike on Doha

Qatar on Wednesday strongly condemned what it described as “reckless statements” by Zionist Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu regarding its hosting of the Hamas political office, calling them a “shameful attempt” to justify the Zionist entity’s deadly strike on Qatari territory. Netanyahu had declared that if Qatar did not expel or prosecute Hamas leaders, the Zionist entity would act itself—a statement made after Zionist warplanes struck Hamas officials in Doha, killing five Hamas members and a Qatari security officer.
The Qatari Foreign Ministry stressed that Netanyahu was “fully aware” the Hamas office was established under internationally recognized mediation efforts, requested at the time by both the US and the Zionist entity. The ministry noted that the office facilitated crucial exchanges and ceasefires, and accused Netanyahu of distorting this role for political gain. Doha also rejected Netanyahu’s comparison between the Zionist entity’s strike and the US pursuit of al-Qaeda after 9/11, calling it a “miserable justification” and a violation of Qatari sovereignty.
Qatar further charged Netanyahu with using “extremist rhetoric to win elections,” pointing out that he faces international sanctions and growing isolation. It vowed to continue its mediation role, defend its sovereignty, and act as a trusted international partner for peace and stability. The ministry also reaffirmed its commitment to the UN Charter, urging the global community to reject Netanyahu’s “Islamophobic and inciteful rhetoric.” Despite the strike, Hamas confirmed its leadership survived. Qatar branded the attack a “cowardly act” and warned it would not tolerate the Zionist entity’s “reckless behavior” as Gaza’s death toll surpasses 64,600 since October 2023.
