Putin, Xi Say Russia-China Partnership at Unprecedented Level

Russian President Vladimir Putin and Chinese President Xi Jinping have stated that the partnership between Russia and China has reached an unprecedented level and is not aimed against any third party, according to Yuri Ushakov, aide to the Russian president. The remarks were made during an extended conversation between the two leaders that lasted nearly an hour and a half.
Ushakov said the talks reaffirmed the strategic priorities guiding cooperation between Moscow and Beijing in the coming period. He noted that Russia remains China’s leading supplier of oil and pipeline gas, underscoring the central role of energy cooperation in bilateral relations. The discussion also allowed both sides to align their approaches on key international and regional issues.
According to Ushakov, Xi Jinping expressed support during the conversation for trilateral security consultations involving Russia, the United States, and Ukraine. The Chinese president also invited Putin to pay an official visit to China in the first half of the year, an invitation that the Russian leader accepted, signaling continued high-level engagement between the two countries.
