Putin Invited to Join Newly Announced Gaza “Peace Council”

Russian President Vladimir Putin has received a diplomatic invitation to join the newly announced “Peace Council” focused on the situation in Gaza, the Kremlin confirmed. Speaking to reporters, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said Moscow is carefully reviewing the proposal amid broader international discussions surrounding efforts to address the conflict.

Peskov noted that Russia is studying all the details of the initiative, including its proposed format, objectives, and potential participants. He emphasized that Moscow is assessing the council within the wider context of ongoing diplomatic developments related to Gaza and the Middle East.

The Kremlin spokesman added that Russia hopes to hold contacts with the United States to clarify the scope and mechanisms of the proposed Peace Council. According to Peskov, such consultations would be necessary to better understand how the initiative is intended to function and what role participating countries would be expected to play.
