Putin Commends Trump’s Unprecedented Diplomatic Effort on Ukraine, Says Kremlin

MOSCOW – Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov hailed US President Donald Trump’s unique and unprecedented approach to resolving the Ukraine conflict, stressing that Russian President Vladimir Putin values Trump’s genuine commitment to addressing the crisis through political and diplomatic channels.

Peskov noted that both leaders share a mutual will for dialogue, which has been a driving factor in advancing discussions. He highlighted that, despite the short preparation time, all necessary arrangements were made to ensure the success of the Putin-Trump summit.

The Kremlin official also pointed out that productive talks took place during the recent visit of US special envoy Steve Witkoff to Russia, which played a key role in paving the way for the high-level meeting between the two presidents.
