Russian President Vladimir Putin arrived Thursday evening at Palam Air Force Base, where he was personally greeted at the aircraft steps by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Putin will participate in meetings and official engagements in New Delhi on December 4–5 at Modi’s invitation. According to the Kremlin, Modi’s decision to welcome Putin directly at the aircraft ramp was unexpected, and the Russian side had not been informed in advance.
