Protest Against Partnership with “Israeli” University : Political Sciences Strasbourg Professors Resign

Five professors from Political Sciences Strasbourg have resigned following the reinstatement of the partnership with the Zionist university Reichmann.

While the university’s board of directors had voted in June to suspend relations with the Zionist institution, the administration proposed an initiative to restore ties between the two universities.

The new agreement formalizing the return of relations with the Zionist university was adopted last week.

Following this, five faculty members — four of whom had voted for the suspension in June — decided to resign from the board. In their resignation letter, they condemn Tuesday’s vote, calling it a “denial of academic democracy,” and argue that “this reversal undermines the credibility of the political sciences Strasbourg board.”
