
The final results of the Algerian presidential elections held on September 7 have established Mr. Abdelmadjid Tebboune’s victory, securing him a second five-year term, announced on Sunday Mohamed Chorfi, the President of the Algerian Independent Authority for Elections (ANIE).
During a press conference at the ANIE headquarters, Chorfi announced that Mr. Abdelmadjid Tebboune won the presidential elections with 5,329,253 votes, which represents 94.65% in preliminary results. Consequently, Mr. Tebboune will serve as the President of the Republic for the upcoming five years.
According to the preliminary results, he is followed by the candidate of the Movement of Society for Peace party (MSP), Mr. Abdelali Hassani Cherif, who obtained 178,797 votes (3.17%), and the candidate of the Socialist Forces Front party (FFS), Mr. Youcef Aouchiche, who received 122,146 votes (2.16%).
