President Tebboune Reaffirms Unwavering Backing, Principled Solidarity with Palestine

Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune reaffirmed Wednesday Algeria’s unwavering support and principled solidarity with the Palestinian people’s struggle, pledging to stand by them until they secure all their inalienable rights, particularly the right to self-determination and the establishment of an independent state with al-Quds al-Sharif as its capital.
In a message delivered on his behalf by the Minister of Mujahideen and Rights Holders, Abdelmalek Tacherift, on the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People, the President of the Republic emphasized that “the ongoing Zionist occupation’s aggression against the Palestinian people and its complete disregard for even the most basic principles of international law and international humanitarian law through the systematic destruction of Gaza’s infrastructure, attacks on the healthcare system, siege, starvation and forced displacement in an attempt to make life there impossible, as well as the tragedy endured by our brothers in the West Bank and al-Quds aimed at entrenching the seizure of occupied territories (…) will not succeed in extinguishing the Palestinian state.” In his message, President Tebboune underscored that despite immense sacrifices, “the Palestinian people will stand firm on their land, holding high the banner of struggle and carrying a message of freedom and dignity from amid the ruins to the world’s conscience — a struggle whose just cause is mirrored in mounting global solidarity and a wave of recognitions of the Palestinian state.”
The Algerian President added, “Algeria reaffirms its unwavering support and principled solidarity with the Palestinian people’s struggle until they secure all their inalienable rights, particularly the right to self-determination and the establishment of an independent state with full sovereignty over the 1967 borders and al-Quds al-Sharif as its capital.” He further said that Algeria “calls upon the international community on this occasion to make the necessary efforts to enforce compliance with international legitimacy, immediately and completely lift the siege on Gaza and open all crossings to ensure humanitarian aid reaches those in need,” reaffirming Algeria’s position “that granting the state of Palestine full membership in the United Nations (UN) is an essential step toward enshrining the Palestinian people’s right to self-determination and statehood.”
“Algeria will remain true to its commitment, standing by our brothers and sisters in occupied Palestine, and will spare no effort in defending their legitimate rights until full sovereignty is restored and a free and independent state is established,” President Tebboune emphasized.
