President Tebboune Orders Launch of Projects to Supply Tindouf, Tamanrasset With Water

President Abdelmadjid Tebboune on Thursday ordered to immediately launch the implementation of two projects to supply Tindouf and Tamanrasset with drinking water, highlighting the development projects achieved in the country’s south, especially in the fields of mining, solar energy, and rail transport.
In a speech before both Houses of Parliament at the Palace of Nations in Algiers, the President of the Republic said “I now order the Prime Minister to begin the establishment of two water stations in Tindouf and Tamanrasset.” As for the Gara Djebilet mine, the President of the Republic underscored that Algeria “has achieved what seemed impossible,” noting that the mine “is now operational and is the third largest iron mine in the world.” He added that by the end of January, the first mining train from Gara Djebilet will reach Oran.
Regarding phosphate production, the President noted that “all eyes are on our plans to produce phosphate at Bled El Hadba” in the country’s east, stressing that the phosphate “will be produced and transported securely, and we will increase our production capacity five times.” He also highlighted Algeria’s achievements in renewable energy.
