President Tebboune: Loyalty to Forefathers’ Sacrifices Guides Algeria’s National Path

ALGIERS, October 31, 2025 – Algerian President, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, affirmed on Friday that loyalty to the sacrifices of the forefathers is the compass guiding Algeria, in this sensitive stage, toward the consolidation of the foundations of the national state and the strengthening of unifying patriotism.
In a message addressed to the Algerian people on the eve of the commemoration of the 71st anniversary of the outbreak of the Liberation Revolution, the President wrote:
“We celebrate, with pride, the glories of the generations who, without respite, fought battles across all corners of Algeria, so that loyalty to their sacrifices may remain an inexhaustible source of determination, nurturing a collective consciousness bound to our glorious history.”
He emphasized that “this is the compass guiding Algeria, in this sensitive phase, toward consolidating the foundations of the national state.”
The President further stated that this loyalty serves as “the compass toward exalting the unifying patriotism that brings together the will of devoted nationalists and all living forces, particularly the youth, in order to shield the country from the turbulence afflicting our regional environment, the intense conflicts underway in the world, and the fractures characterizing international relations.”
He added that Algeria seeks to achieve this “by relying on its own capacities, through an economy of performance and wealth creation, and by drawing strength from the awareness and patriotism of the sons and daughters of Algeria, determined to proudly build the present and the future, following in the footsteps of our valiant martyrs, to whose memory we bow, driven by the will of the sincere who labor for the elevation of the homeland and in service of the people.”
“On November 1st, we collectively commemorate the anniversary of the outbreak, by the Algerian people, of the glorious and eternal Liberation Revolution — a historic turning point that followed long decades of popular resistance and national struggle, marked by suffering and bloodshed, during which our people endured the horrors of settler colonialism, resisted its greed and hateful tyranny, and refused, by every means of resistance at their disposal, the spoliation of their land, the desecration of their history, and the distortion of their identity,” the President of the Republic recalled in his message.
