President Tebboune Calls on Businessmen to Strengthen Economic Relations Between Algeria, Slovenia

LJUBLJANA (Slovenia) – The Algerian President, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, called on Tuesday evening, in Ljubljana, on Algerian and Slovenian businessmen to work to strengthen bilateral economic and commercial relations so that they are at the level of the understanding between the two countries and their good political relations.

In his speech at the opening of the Algeria-Slovenia Business Forum, which he co-chaired with the President of Slovenia, Natasa Pirc Musar, Tebboune affirmed that “it is now necessary to establish very strong economic relations with the Republic of Slovenia that must be at the level of good political relations and understanding between us.”

In this regard, he considered it necessary for the cooperation with Slovenia to be “without limits,” to encompass all areas, particularly “Artificial Intelligence, Higher Education and Scientific Research, water, the space domain, and mines, in addition to the implementation of joint projects in the pharmaceutical industry and in other sectors.”

Tebboune enumerated Algeria’s assets, notably “its ambitious youth,” in addition to “15 higher schools in new advanced scientific specialties, such as artificial intelligence, mathematics and new technologies, as well as more than 100 universities.”

Algeria is “the only African country without external debt, which testifies to the strength of the Algerian economy” and constitutes “a clear indicator of the sovereignty and independence of Algeria’s economic and political decision-making,” said the Algerian President.

After recalling that he had agreed with his Slovenian counterpart on the establishment of an “exchange program between businessmen and young start-up promoters,” Tebboune emphasized the importance of holding periodic meetings between businessmen from both countries and intensifying ministerial visits between Algeria and Slovenia, with a view to “building strong relations, in the economic and scientific fields with this friendly country.”
