President of Sahrawi National Council partakes in 12th Annual Conference of African Parliament Heads

JOHANNESBURG – The President of the Sahrawi National Council and the member of the National Secretariat Hama Salama, is participating in the 12th Annual Conference of African Parliament Heads organized by the African Parliament from September 18 to 20 in Johannesburg, South Africa.

He is accompanied by Jamal Bendir Berhah, the Secretary-General of the National Council, and the representatives of the Sahrawi Republic in the African Parliament.

This conference is held under the theme: “African Education Fit for the 21st Century: Building Resilient Education Systems for Increased Access to Inclusive, Lifelong, Quality and Relevant Learning in Africa.”

Participants will discuss and study other topics included in the conference agenda related to “peace and security in Africa and its impact on continental integration and economic development, progress in implementing the 2063 Agenda and its challenges, advancements in establishing the African Continental Free Trade Area, food and energy insecurity on the continent, and the contribution of parliaments to improving production and self-sufficiency.”

Participants will also discuss “the impact of climate change on the continent, Africa’s strategic efforts, institutional reforms of the African Union, and the expected outcomes.”
