President of Algeria’s APN Concludes Official Visit to South Korea

Brahim Boughali, President of Algeria’s National People’s Assembly (APN), has successfully completed his official visit to South Korea, which was undertaken at the invitation of his counterpart, Woo Won-shik, President of the National Assembly of South Korea. This information was reported in a press release from the lower house of Parliament on Friday.
On the third and final day of his visit, the APN president toured the facilities of the Hyundai and LG Groups, as well as the National Museum of Korea.
During his visit to Hyundai, Boughali observed various stages of production and explored several key departments, particularly those focused on future vehicles equipped with hydrogen and electric technologies, according to the same source.
In a meeting with Hyundai Group officials, attended by his accompanying delegation and the Algerian ambassador to Korea, Boughali commended “the progress of the Group’s activities,” specifically mentioning preparations for establishing a factory in Algeria by 2025, as noted in the statement.
According to estimates from Hyundai officials, the company’s global vehicle assembly network “is expected to comprise 15 factories, with a projected production capacity of 1.5 million vehicles in Korea and 3 million vehicles at overseas facilities.”
In this context, the APN president expressed confidence that Hyundai’s factory in Algeria could enhance production rates to meet the growing demand for this brand, potentially facilitating exports to Africa in the future.
Boughali emphasized the advantages embedded in Algeria’s investment law, highlighting “the improvement of the business climate in Algeria, along with the role of startups in developing the subcontracting sector, thereby contributing to increased local manufacturing integration.”
At the “Innovation Gallery” within LG’s research and development center, Boughali inquired about third-generation robots utilized for hospitality, catering, and domestic services. He also examined spare parts for electric vehicles, including control panels, batteries, and charging devices produced using artificial intelligence.
Moreover, he received insights into the expansion of LG’s scientific center’s activities to encompass other fields, such as drug manufacturing and agricultural technologies.
At the conclusion of his visit, the APN president gained valuable insights into part of the historical and cultural heritage of the Korean people during his tour of the National Museum of Korea, established in 1945. This museum houses approximately 4 million preserved artifacts, with 150,000 items on display to visitors each day.
