President Abbas Warns of New Nakba, Stresses Urgent Priorities for Palestinian Cause

President of the State of Palestine Mahmoud Abbas warned on Wednesday that the Palestinian people are facing dangers akin to a new Nakba, threatening their existence and aiming to liquidate the national cause. Speaking at the opening of the 32nd session of the Palestinian Central Council in Ramallah, Abbas said this threat stems from the same forces behind the Nakba of 1948, the Nakba of 1967, and the internal division of 2007.

Abbas outlined four urgent national priorities: halting the Zionist war on Gaza, securing a full withdrawal of zionist forces from Gaza, stopping Zionist attacks in the West Bank, and protecting Islamic and Christian holy sites in Palestinian territories. He stressed that Zionist aggression seeks to erase the Palestinian cause and impose colonial rule through force, describing the situation in Jerusalem as part of a wider assault on Palestinian identity and presence.

The President accused the zionist entity of violating international law, ignoring agreements with the PLO, promoting extremism, and financially besieging Palestinians by withholding clearance revenues. He reaffirmed that achieving peace requires ending the occupation, establishing a sovereign and recognized Palestinian state, and securing full UN membership.
