Possible Putin-Zelenskyy Meeting Discussed in US-Russia Talks, Kremlin Says

The possibility of a direct meeting between Russian President Vladimir Putin and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has been raised multiple times during phone conversations between Putin and US President Donald Trump, Kremlin aide Yuri Ushakov confirmed. Ushakov’s remarks came in response to statements by Ukraine’s foreign minister regarding Zelenskyy’s willingness to hold a personal discussion on the territorial disputes between the two countries.
Ushakov emphasized that Putin has indicated Zelenskyy could come to Moscow if he is prepared for dialogue. Russia has not ruled out contacts between the two leaders, but any meeting would need careful preparation to ensure it produces concrete, positive outcomes.
He also assured that Moscow would guarantee Zelenskyy’s security should he decide to travel to Russia for talks. Ushakov stressed that any potential interaction between Putin and Zelenskyy should be focused strictly on achieving tangible results rather than symbolic gestures.
