Pep Guardiola Signs Two-Year Contract Extension with Manchester City

Manchester City announced on Thursday that manager Pep Guardiola has signed a two-year contract extension, ensuring he will stay at the club until at least the end of the 2026/27 season.

Guardiola, whose previous contract was set to expire at the end of the 2024/25 season, expressed his deep connection to the club after the signing ceremony. “Manchester City means so much to me,” the 53-year-old said. “This is my ninth season here. We have experienced so many amazing times together. I have a really special feeling for this football club. That is why I am so happy to be staying for another two more seasons.”

Under Guardiola’s leadership, Manchester City has reached unprecedented heights, becoming the first club to win four consecutive English Premier League titles and the first to amass 100 points in a single season. Over his eight full seasons at the helm, Guardiola has guided City to 18 major trophies, including six Premier League titles, one UEFA Champions League, and the historic treble in the 2022/23 season.

The contract extension ensures that Guardiola’s transformative journey with City will continue, as he looks to build on his remarkable achievements at the club.
