Palestinian Death Toll in Gaza Rises to Over 68,216 Despite Ceasefire

Despite the ceasefire that took effect in Gaza on October 11, the number of Palestinians killed continues to rise, with the death toll now reaching 68,216—mostly women and children—since the start of the Zionist aggression in October 2023. Over 170,361 others have been injured in the ongoing humanitarian catastrophe.

Medical authorities warned that the figures remain incomplete, as dozens of victims are still trapped beneath the rubble, with rescue and ambulance teams unable to reach them due to the extensive destruction. In the past 48 hours alone, hospitals in Gaza received 57 bodies, including 45 people killed directly by Zionist fire and 12 recovered from the debris, along with 158 wounded.

Since the ceasefire began, at least 80 Palestinians have been killed and 303 others injured, while the bodies of 426 victims have been recovered. The continued loss of life underscores the fragility of the truce and the immense challenges facing Gaza’s population amid the devastation left by a year of relentless attacks.
