Pakistan is set to enhance its collaboration with Russia in the oil and gas sector, with plans to open its doors for exploration and development. Sardar Awais Ahmad Khan Leghari, Pakistan’s Federal Minister of Energy, emphasized that Russia’s advanced and well-developed oil and gas industry presents a valuable opportunity for bilateral cooperation.
Leghari believes that this collaboration would benefit both countries, with Russian companies also gaining access to new markets.
Pakistan views the oil and gas sector as a crucial component of its future economic growth, with Leghari highlighting that the country aims to develop this area as a “key backbone” of its economy.
Additionally, Pakistan expects to secure better pricing structures and reduce logistics and transportation costs by directly accessing Russian energy resources, thus enhancing economic efficiency.
