Over 415,000 in Gaza sheltering in UNRWA schools vulnerable to Zionist airstrikes

GAZA – The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) reported on Sunday that over 415,000 displaced Palestinians are currently sheltering in the agency’s school buildings in Gaza, while hundreds of thousands more are struggling to survive in even worse conditions in temporary shelters.
“Over 415,000 displaced people in Gaza are now sheltering in UNRWA school buildings. Hundreds of thousands of others are trying to survive in even worse conditions in temporary shelters,” the agency said.
In a post on X, UNRWA shared a video filmed by a displaced woman, Aisha, highlighting the especially harsh conditions faced by women and girls amid the ongoing Zionist genocidal war in the Strip.
“The facilities we need are far away, the toilet is far, there is no place to cook or rest, and the place where we are staying is unsafe, vulnerable to being bombed at any moment. Gaza as a whole is unsafe. They (Zionist occupation) have deprived us of our right to safety and protection,” Aisha said.
In parallel, the Zionist occupation is intensifying attacks on civilian homes and gatherings, according to the civil defence agency in the enclave.
“Nearly 100 martyrs were killed in the Gaza Strip within 24 hours as a result of the continuous Israeli bombing operations on homes and citizens’ gatherings,” the agency said in a statement.
The statement added: “Until this moment, civil defence crews are prevented from exercising their duties in northern Gaza, and this has led to hundreds of citizens remaining under the rubble.”
The Zionist occupation launched a genocidal war on the Gaza Strip since October of last year, resulting in 44,400 martyrs and over 105,000 injured.
