Over 33,000 Displaced in Three Days as RSF Accused of Massacres in Besieged El-Fasher

At least 7,455 people were displaced from the besieged city of El-Fasher in western Sudan in a single day due to attacks by the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF), bringing the total number of displaced to 33,485 over three days, the International Organization for Migration (IOM) said late Tuesday.
Sudanese authorities and humanitarian organizations have accused the RSF of committing “massacres and humanitarian violations” against civilians in El-Fasher, including summary executions, arbitrary arrests, and forced displacement, after the group began storming the city on Sunday following a year-long siege. According to the IOM, most of the displaced have fled to rural areas within El-Fasher locality, while others have reached the towns of Tawila, Mellit, and Kebkabiya west of the city.
The El-Fasher Resistance Coordination, a local committee, reported that Janjaweed militias (RSF) executed all the wounded inside the Saudi Maternity Hospital “in horrific ways,” describing the situation as one where “mercy vanished before medicine could reach them.” The Arab League condemned the “atrocious crimes” and called for the prosecution of those responsible while urging an immediate ceasefire. Meanwhile, UN Humanitarian Coordinator Denise Brown and Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) appealed for safe passage for civilians as the RSF continues its assault.
