
ALGIERS – The Algerian President, Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, and Minister of Defense, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, chaired a cabinet meeting on Sunday, where he welcomed the new government, wishing them success in their noble mission.
He then gave the floor to the Prime Minister, who thanked him for his trust and affirmed his commitment to implementing the roadmap outlined by the President for the upcoming phase, which is based on serving the citizens and advancing participatory democracy.
Following this, President Abdelmadjid Tebboune issued his orders, instructions, and guidance to the government as follows:
- He emphasized the imperative need to enhance government work through efficiency and effectiveness, each within their respective responsibilities, and through fieldwork in managing public affairs.
- He called for drawing lessons from past experiences and moving forward with what has proven to be effective and beneficial for citizens.
- He affirmed that Algeria, as it moves safely forward thanks to the efforts of its people, needs a concerted effort and full coordination among government team members to achieve comprehensive resilience across all sectors and gain credibility with public opinion through solutions that strengthen internal unity.
- He stressed the necessity of placing citizens and their concerns at the top of priorities in action plans, in order to provide lasting and definitive solutions.
- The Algerian President directed the government to focus on fulfilling its assigned duties with a high level of seriousness.
- President Abdelmadjid Tebboune clarified that Algeria is not to be managed through austerity, but rather through smart governance, which lies at the heart of the presidential project aimed at elevating Algeria to the ranks of emerging countries by achieving quality in the level of social and economic development.
- The Algerian President instructed the government team to ensure initial coordination with the Prime Minister, as a key link in government operations.
Following the initial directives given to the new government, Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune instructed the preparation of sectoral presentations and action plans, to be presented during upcoming Cabinet meetings.
The Cabinet meeting concluded with the approval of decisions involving appointments and dismissals from high-ranking positions and functions within the state.
