OCHA: Fuel Shortages, Road Closures Slow Humanitarian Response in Gaza

The United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) has stressed that fuel shortages and road closures are significantly slowing humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip, ravaged by more than two years of genocidal Zionist aggression.

In its daily report, OCHA said Wednesday that while fuel deliveries have resumed, ongoing access restrictions and storage challenges continue to increase costs and delay aid.

The report also noted that UN partners have resumed monthly food ration distributions for the first time since October 2023, reaching 100,000 people.

The Office added that since the ceasefire took effect in Gaza last October, 35 healthcare facilities have been reopened and 25 new ones established, including 12 primary healthcare centers, mainly in the northern part of the enclave.

The number of temporary learning spaces has also increased to 424, with two opening on January 3-4, according to the same source.
