Norway Officially Establishes Diplomatic Relations with the State of Palestine

Marie Antoinette Sedin, the Ambassador of the State of Palestine in Norway, has presented her credentials to King Harald V, marking her as the first Palestinian ambassador to serve in the kingdom.
On Friday, the Palestinian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates announced that “Sedin has become the inaugural Palestinian ambassador to Norway following the country’s historic recognition of Palestine as a state on May 28.”
“This decision took effect this month with the formal presentation of her credentials to the King of Norway,” the ministry emphasized, as reported by the Wafa news agency.
The ministry expressed its satisfaction with this milestone, describing it as a “historic day for the Palestinian cause,” in light of Norway’s recognition of Palestine as a state. It views this development as “a message of solidarity and a clear acknowledgment of Palestinian rights amidst the ongoing extermination campaign they are facing due to the Zionist occupation, particularly in the Gaza Strip.”
In a related statement, the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs shared a message on social media on Thursday: “Today, we mark the establishment of diplomatic relations between Norway and the State of Palestine.”
“Congratulations to the newly appointed Palestinian ambassador Marie Sedin on the presentation of her credentials to His Majesty King Harald,” the Norwegian ministry added.
