Norway Criticizes the West’s Silence on Zionist Crimes in Gaza

Norwegian Foreign Minister Espen Barth Eide has condemned the silence of many Western nations regarding the ongoing genocide being carried out by the Zionist occupation against Palestinians in the Gaza Strip.

During a joint press conference with Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan in Ankara, Eide expressed, “I am deeply concerned by the silence of some of my Western counterparts regarding what is happening in Gaza,” describing the lack of response to this tragedy as a “grave mistake.”

Eide emphasized that Norway does not belong to the group of silent countries; rather, it was among the first to advocate for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza, which has been devastated by genocidal Zionist violence since October 7, 2023.

He further asserted that Norway approaches the conflict with a strong commitment to international law and called on the international community to “adopt consistent and public positions to protect human rights principles and avoid double standards.” Eide also highlighted the importance of pursuing a two-state solution.
