Kim Jong Un personally test-drove one of 50 newly delivered 600mm multiple rocket launcher systems designated for the Korean People’s Army, according to the state news agency Korean Central News Agency (KCNA).
The report said the launchers are part of a broader effort to strengthen the country’s military capabilities and enhance its strategic deterrence. The systems are expected to boost the operational readiness and firepower of North Korea’s armed forces amid ongoing regional tensions.
Speaking at the event, Kim said Pyongyang would continue advancing its military technology to deter its rivals. “We will continue to demonstrate our achievements in defense technology that our geopolitical opponents will be greatly afraid of,” he stated, underscoring the leadership’s focus on expanding the country’s defense capabilities.
