Nigeria: Seven Killed in Mosque Explosion

An explosion at a mosque in the northeastern Nigerian city of Maiduguri killed seven people on Wednesday, according to the leader of an anti-terrorist militia and eyewitnesses.
According to the militia leader, Babakura Kolo, the incident was a bomb attack.
Witnesses said the bomb exploded inside a crowded mosque at the Gamboru market in the city, as worshippers had gathered for evening prayers.
One of the mosque’s officials, Malam Abuna Yusuf, reported eight deaths, while authorities have not yet released an official casualty figure.
