ALGIERS – The Nigerian Minister of Industry, Trade, and Investment, Jumoke Oduwole, confirmed on Saturday that her country seeks to diversify its economic partnership with Algeria, given the opportunities available in both countries.
On the sidelines of her participation in the 4th edition of the Intra-African Trade Fair, Oduwole held talks with the Algerian Minister of Foreign Trade and Export Promotion, Kamel Rezig, which focused on cooperation in the energy sector in its various branches, as well as on manufactured goods that are in demand in the Nigerian market and could be imported from Algeria — and vice versa, according to Algeria Press Service (APS).
The Nigerian minister said the meeting also touched on potential cooperation in the agriculture and infrastructure sectors, as well as opportunities for the exchange of consumer goods.
Moreover, she expressed her country’s aspiration to establish “closer relations” with Algeria, praising the direct air route between Algiers and Abuja, which was launched by Air Algérie last April.
