NAPEC 2024: Signing of Numerous Cooperation Agreements

The 12th edition of the Africa and Mediterranean Energy and Hydrogen Exhibition and Conference, known as “NAPEC 2024,” concluded on Wednesday in Oran, northwestern Algeria, resulting in a significant number of cooperation agreements signed among participants. This underscores the growing success of this economic event, according to Djaafar Yacini, the General Director of the Exhibition.

During a press conference marking the event’s conclusion, Yacini reported that this year’s exhibition, held over three days at the “Ahmed Benahmed” Convention Center in Oran, attracted more than 22,000 operators, including representatives from 217 companies across 54 countries, alongside 16,000 visitors, most of whom are professionals working in the industrial and service sectors.

Many attendees finalized cooperation agreements, partnerships, and trade deals, with notable contributions from Sonatrach Group, which signed four agreements with both Algerian and foreign operators.

Yacini emphasized the “remarkable success” of this 12th NAPEC edition compared to previous iterations, highlighting an increase in exhibitors and approximately 4,000 more visitors than last year.

He further explained that this achievement is largely attributed to the growing interest of major energy companies in Algeria’s sector, spurred by amendments to the Hydrocarbon Law and the fiscal and non-fiscal incentives offered to foreign investors seeking to enter this field.

The 12th Africa and Mediterranean Energy and Hydrogen Exhibition and Conference (NAPEC 2024) was held under the slogan: “Balancing Hydrocarbons and Clean Energies: Towards an Efficient Energy Mix.”

The opening ceremony was chaired by Minister of Energy and Mines Mohamed Arkab, alongside Minister of Environment and Renewable Energies Fazia Dahlab, Minister of Vocational Training and Education Yacine Merabi, industry leaders, and ambassadors from several nations.

The event also served as a platform for discussing various topics related to the energy industry, alternative energies, and environmental issues.
