The 38-year-old Spaniard is set to compete in his final professional event at the Davis Cup Finals, scheduled to take place in Malaga from November 19 to 24.
In a heartfelt video posted on X, Nadal announced his retirement from professional tennis, stating, “Hello everyone, I am here to let you know I am retiring from professional tennis. The reality is that these past few years, especially the last two, have been challenging. I haven’t been able to play without limitations.”
He reflected on the difficulty of his decision, saying, “It’s obviously a tough choice, one that has taken me a considerable amount of time to reach. However, in life, everything has a beginning and an end, and I believe it’s the right moment to conclude a career that has been long and far more successful than I ever imagined.”
