Mozambique Reports 80 Cholera Cases in 24 Hours

At least 80 cholera cases were recorded in the past 24 hours in Mozambique, the Health Ministry said on Wednesday, citing local media.

The total number of infections since the outbreak began on Sept. 3, 2025 has reached 4,621, including 62 deaths.

Nearly half of the cases are concentrated in the provinces of Nampula, with 1,961 cases and 23 deaths, and Tete, with 1,781 cases and 28 deaths.

During the previous outbreak, between October 2024 and July 2025, 4,420 cholera cases were recorded, including 3,590 in Nampula province.

Health Minister Ussene Isse said authorities had purchased 3.5 million vaccine doses to combat cholera, with the aim of ending recurring outbreaks by 2030.
