Mozambique explores energy, electrical industry cooperation opportunities with Algeria

MOSTAGANEM – The ambassador of Mozambique to Algeria, Antonio Augusto Eduardo Namputeche, underscored on Sunday, in the province of Mostaganem, that his country is seeking cooperation opportunities with Algeria in the field of energy and electrical industry.

During his visit to the industrial complex specialized in electrical industries “GSP Electric,” located in the municipality of Mesra, the ambassador affirmed that his country is “in a phase of exploration of cooperation opportunities with Algeria, notably in gas energy and electrical industry.”

Recalling the historical relations between Mozambique and Algeria, the diplomat underlined that “the diplomatic and political relations are good, which allows us to hope that economic cooperation will reach the same level.”

He further mentioned the challenges that Mozambique faces in the field of energy and electrical industry, notably in matters of infrastructure, transport and electricity production from gas, as well as in the manufacturing of electrical equipment and public lighting.

Namputeche underscored that “there are solutions in Algeria and they arouse our interest.”

For his part, the president of the Electrical Industrial Cluster of Algeria (CIEL), Djilani Bachir Kobibi, affirmed his company’s readiness to contribute to cooperation projects between the two countries in the field of electrical industry.
