Morocco: Massive Protests Demand an End to Normalization with Zionist Entity

The streets of major Moroccan cities witnessed a surge of large-scale protests on Tuesday evening, where citizens expressed their solidarity with Palestine and called for an end to all forms of normalization between the Makhzen regime and the Zionist entity, which has intensified its brutal aggression against the Palestinian people in Gaza, according to local media reports.

Demonstrators filled the streets of Tangier, Rabat, Fes, Casablanca, Berkane, and Agadir, chanting slogans such as “The people want an end to normalization.”

Protesters waved Palestinian flags and carried banners denouncing the ongoing aggression by the Zionist entity, reaffirming their unequivocal rejection of any form of normalization.

In Rabat, demonstrators gathered in front of Parliament, emphasizing that the blood of children, women, and the elderly in Gaza should not be wielded as leverage in political negotiations.

Similarly, cities like Tangier, Fes, and Casablanca also experienced significant demonstrations where Moroccans took to the main streets to voice their outrage over the heinous crimes perpetrated by the occupying Zionist forces.

The protests extended to several other cities, with thousands of individuals flooding the streets to condemn the Zionist occupation, reiterate their rejection of normalization, and express unwavering solidarity with the Palestinian people.

In this context, the Moroccan Front for Supporting Palestine and Against Normalization has called for a protest rally on Wednesday in Tetouan to reaffirm its support for the Palestinian cause until full rights are achieved, amplify the voices of the Moroccan populace against normalization, and renew the commitment that “protecting Palestine is a duty and normalization is a betrayal.”

Likewise, the National Union of Moroccan Students condemned the Zionist aggression against the Gaza Strip and the blatant violation of the ceasefire agreement. They called for the “suspension of all normalization agreements signed with the Zionist entity” and urged bold actions commensurate with the sensitive phase we are experiencing in support of the rights of the Palestinian people.

The organization expressed its readiness to partake in all forms of struggle and popular demonstrations supporting the Palestinian cause and opposing normalization, “alongside other organizations and civil society institutions.”

The Student Renewal Organization condemned “the silence of Moroccan authorities,” asserting that it has shifted from powerlessness and inaction to overt complicity with the Zionist enemy through normalization efforts and security and economic coordination, reflecting a clear betrayal of the Muslim nation and its just causes.

It reiterated its call for countries that have normalized relations with the Zionist entity, particularly Morocco, “to cease all forms of normalization with this occupying entity, considering that this path has only brought shame and dishonor, and is rejected by free peoples who hold the Palestinian cause at the core of their conscience and identity.”
