Moroccan Occupation Authorities Escalate Demolition Campaign Against Sahrawi Civilians

The Moroccan occupation authorities persist in their systematic settlement policies against Sahrawi civilians in Western Sahara, repeatedly demolishing homes and confiscating land in blatant violation of fundamental human and legal rights.

In this context, the Sahrawi Association ASVDH issued a statement following a new crime committed by the Moroccan occupation authorities on Tuesday—the demolition of Sahrawi citizens’ homes in the suburbs of occupied El Aaiún, specifically in the Azmila Ghazlan-Tadghast area. This act is part of a deliberate policy aimed at displacing the indigenous population and altering the territory’s demographic composition to serve illegal settlement and annexation projects.

The ASVDH condemned these actions as a continuation of Morocco’s colonial practices, urging the international community to intervene and hold the occupying state accountable for its repeated violations of international law and human rights conventions.
