Moroccan Democratic Way Party: Normalization with the Zionist Entity is a Betrayal of the People’s Will

The Moroccan Democratic Way Party has warned against the escalating normalization between the Moroccan regime and the Zionist entity, describing it as a “blatant betrayal” of the Moroccan people’s will and a challenge to their national sentiments. In a statement issued by its political bureau, the party criticized the regime for opening the doors of the kingdom wide to Zionist entities, including allowing ships loaded with weapons to dock at the Tangier-Med port to support the Zionist war machine against the Palestinian people.

The statement highlighted the regime’s continued deepening of ties with the Zionist entity despite widespread public rejection. The party also reaffirmed its solidarity with political detainees Ismail El Ghazawi, an activist with the Moroccan branch of the BDS movement, and journalist Yassine Zeroual. It called for their immediate release, along with all other political prisoners, including those detained in connection with the Rif Hirak movement.

The party condemned what it described as the regime’s “crackdown” on labor and popular movements, denouncing the repressive policies targeting protesters and activists opposing normalization. It also called for a collective resistance against what it referred to as “capitalist regime projects,” notably the proposed strike law, which it views as an attack on workers’ rights.

In conclusion, the Democratic Way Party welcomed the International Criminal Court’s decision to issue arrest warrants for Zionist war criminals. It criticized the complicity of certain international powers with the Zionist entity and urged for increased support for the Palestinian struggle, emphasizing the need to continue popular efforts to dismantle normalization agreements.
