Minister Attaf: The region and international order are facing a defining moment in history

Algerian Minister of State, Minister of Foreign Affairs, National Community Abroad, and African Affairs, Ahmed Attaf, said on Saturday that international laws, including the very Charter of the United Nations, have been completely disregarded, the balance of civilized international conduct has been disrupted, and the logic of force now knows no restraints or boundaries.
In a speech he delivered during the 51st Session of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) held in Istanbul, Minister Attaf noted that the drive for absolute dominance has led the aggressor to openly declare its intention to reshape the Middle East—and even to restructure the entire international order.
“Today, there is Israeli aggression against Iran and an open-ended war fraught with possibilities that threaten the region with disasters of various kinds and unpredictable consequences. And just recently, there have been repeated and systematic Israeli attacks on Syria, Lebanon, and Yemen—assaults that persist to this very moment,” the Algerian minister said, adding that “the Israeli occupation refuses to end the war it has been waging against the Palestinian people in Gaza for nearly two years.”
In this regard, Minister Attaf highlighted that the region and international order are facing a defining moment in history, which demands a comprehensive reconsideration of the issue of security in the Middle East, “grounded in genuine principles that reject prioritizing the interests of any one party over those of others, exempting any party from its duties while imposing them on others, or showing leniency to some while applying strict measures unfairly to others.”
