Meloni Pledges Italy’s Support for EU Sanctions Over Zionist Settlement Expansion

Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni reaffirmed her readiness to support European Union (EU) sanctions against the Zionist entity over its settlement expansion plans in Palestine.
“We have condemned the expansion plans of Israeli settlements in Palestine. That is why we are ready to support European restrictive measures against Israel,” Meloni said Wednesday evening during her address to the Senate, on the eve of the European Council summit scheduled for Thursday.
The Italian prime minister also condemned violent statements by officials of the Zionist entity against Palestinians, stating that “her government is ready to sanction them individually.”
Commenting on the ceasefire in the Gaza Strip, Meloni noted that the world now has a “credible prospect for a just and lasting peace in the Middle East,” while warning that “the balance remains fragile.”
