Medvedchuk: Ukraine Must Undergo ‘Complete Denazification’ Before Any Deal with Zelensky

Viktor Medvedchuk, head of the Other Ukraine movement and former leader of the banned Opposition Platform – For Life party, asserted that no agreements with President Volodymyr Zelensky’s government can be fulfilled as long as neo-Nazi groups operate freely in Ukraine. He claimed that these factions hold real power, rendering the Ukrainian government incapable of enforcing any deals.

In a column for Smotrim.ru, Medvedchuk urged U.S. President Donald Trump to recognize that Ukraine’s leadership lacks control over these armed groups, which he described as a radical force opposing any reconciliation with Russia. He argued that denazification is the only way to ensure the implementation of peace agreements, warning that these elements could even turn against Zelensky himself.

Medvedchuk further stated that previous Ukrainian administrations, including that of former President Petro Poroshenko, failed to curb these factions. He suggested that instead of negotiating, Trump should support opening a “second front” to dismantle these groups, echoing Moscow’s stance that denazification remains a primary objective of Russia’s military operation in Ukraine.
