Mauritania’s Prime Minister Begins Official Visit to Algeria

The Prime Minister of the Islamic Republic of Mauritania, Mokhtar Ould Djay, arrived Monday in Algeria on an official visit, heading a high-level ministerial delegation, as part of the 20th session of the Algerian–Mauritanian Joint Grand Commission for Cooperation.
He was welcomed upon arrival at Houari Boumediene International Airport by Algerian Prime Minister Sifi Ghrieb.
This visit comes within the context of the positive momentum in bilateral relations between Algeria and Mauritania, and reflects the commitment of the two countries’ leaderships to elevate joint cooperation to broader levels, in a way that serves mutual interests and strengthens the fraternal ties between the two peoples, the Algerian Prime Minister’s office said in a statement.
The proceedings of the Joint Grand Commission for Cooperation are set to explore ways to strengthen the bilateral partnership, promote investment, and facilitate trade, with particular emphasis on developing border regions and enhancing economic integration between the two countries, the statement said.
